Room Parents - Suzette Mikell Room parents are extremely important volunteers at Jones Valley Elementary. Room parents act as a liaison between teachers and parents to coordinate events and activities in each classroom. They are responsible for planning, organizing, and assembling volunteers for various classroom activities such as class parties, Teacher Appreciation Week, and teacher birthdays. SuperMEN Seeking fathers and father figures! Every Friday, JVE welcomes SuperMEN to spend time at JVE. Spend the entire day with us if you like, or come for as long your schedule permits. Library Shifts for Fall 2020 TBD • Help students locate and check out books • Re-shelve books as needed • Display library cards as classes arrive • Help keep library cards in order
Lunchroom Shifts for Fall 2020 TBD. • Stock aprons upon arrival with napkins, straws, forks and scissors • Help open lunch items, and assist students • Notify lunchroom staff when towels are needed or large spills occur Coffee Cart Shifts for Fall 2020 TBD. • Provide coffee and refreshments to the teachers, administrators, and staff Hospitality - Deanna Patton Help with one of the many services provided by the Hospitality Chair: • Back to School Luncheon for teachers • Provide snacks for monthly faculty meetings • Thanksgiving Lunch • Holiday gifts for teachers • Field Day • Teacher Appreciation Lunch • Bulletin boards Reading Buddies Spend time reading with a student at JVE. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and grandparents who are looking for a way to get involved! Contact your student's teacher if you are interested in volunteering. • Read or use flash cards to reinforce reading skills with a student • Training and materials are provided • Shifts are typically one morning per week for 30 minutes to 1 hour Book Fair - Brooke Edmondson Assist with set-up/break-down, assist students with selecting and purchasing books. Candy Cane Corner Help students shop and gift-wrap their items during our annual holiday shopping event held in December. Cub Carnival Help manage a station such as the cake walk, mini-golf, ring toss, inflatables, and face painting. |
